Our take
I bought this 15lb hex dumbbell for my home gym, and it's solid. The cast iron feels rugged, and the hex shape keeps it from rolling away mid-set — a nice touch. The chrome handle has a good knurling that grips well even when my hands get sweaty. At $23.96 for a single, it's competitively priced. My only gripes: it's sold individually, so you'll need two for balanced movements, and the phthalate warning is a bit off-putting. Also, the rubber encasing on the heads is minimal. But for basic lifting, it gets the job done.
